Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Angel Gomes will leave the club this week.

Gomes is out of contract with the Red Devils and he has been reluctant to sign a contract extension with the Old Trafford team and Solskjaer said the lack of a breakthrough on a new deal means the promising 19-year-old is almost certain to leave.

And when asked if Gomes would be leaving United, Solskjaer said: “To be honest, I have not heard from them last night or this morning.

“So it seems like they’ve not managed to agree, so the answer is probably short and ‘yes’ at the moment.

“I’ve got no news, so it doesn’t look like it [that he will sign a new deal].”

Manchester United will play Chelsea in the semi-final of the FA Cup after they defeated Norwich in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
