Manchester City to rival Barcelona for £87m rated Portugal defender Ruben Dias this summer.
The 22-year-old center-back established himself as a key man for both Benfica after making 51 appearances across all competitions for club and country this season and found back of the net on two occasions and he is now being linked with several big European clubs.
However, Dias has an £87 million release clause installed into his long-term contract means he will not come cheap for anyone who wants to sign him.
According to The Record claim that Manchester City is ready to overpower Champions League rival Barcelona and Premier League giant Manchester United for the signature of Benfica defender despite his hefty price tag.
The report claims that the centre-back’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has offered his services to the La Liga holders as a potential long-term replacement to the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Samuel Umtiti in the summer.
Nevertheless, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said to be an admirer of Dias, could also cash in on one of his centre-backs later in 2020.
