Arsenal make an undisclosed bid for Manchester United inform player Chris Smalling ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old England international surplus to requirement as he was allowed to leave Old Trafford to AS Roma on a season-long loan.
Smalling has been in impressive form after contributing two goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit.

Smalling has made 323 appearances for the Manchester United in all competitions, winning two Premier League titles in the process, both under Sir Alex Ferguson.
