Olympics Eagles striker Aminu Umar ruled out for six months after undergoing Anterior Cruciate Ligament Surgery, according to his Turkish club Rizespor.
The 25-year-old Nigerian forward had scored three goals in 18 league appearances.
Umar was operated on at the Acidadem Fulya Hospital as the surgeon Omer Taser said the surgery was successful.
This is the former Flying Eagles star biggest injury setback since he moved to Turkey in 2013.
Rizespor are battling to stay up in the Turkish Super Lig after lying in 16 places with 25 points after 25 matches.
Umar started his career Wikki Tourists before a spell at Samsunspor, Osmanlıspor and Çaykur Rizespor.
