Nigeria Football Federation hopeful Eberechi Eze emerged as a transfer target for London club Tottenham Hotspur ahead of summer move from Queens Park Rangers.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder scored 12 goals and contributed eight assists for Mark Warburton’s men this season.
Spurs have been monitoring Eze for some time, with former Premier League manager Mauricio Pochettino showing a great interest in the youngster before his sacking in November.
However, Sun claims that Jose Mourinho is now looking to strengthen his midfield in the upcoming summer transfer window and is likely to make a bid for the £20m-rated Eze.
West Ham, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace were keen before being put off by his £20 million asking prices.
Eze’s current deal with the Championship runs out in 2021 but a transfer to another London based club could see him leave in the upcoming window.
