Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has decided to a pay cut in a bid to seal a permanent deal to Manchester United at the end of the season.
Ighalo secured a move to Old Trafford in the transfer deadline and he initially agree to receive a pay cut to make his move actualized from Shanghai Shenhua to Manchester United.
The former Super Eagles attacker earn £240,000-a-week with the Chinese Super League and had to take an initial pay cut of 40% of his total earnings to see his dream move to Manchester United come true.
Ighalo has performed tremendously with the Manchester United and he has convince both manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the board that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level and the board are considering signing him on a permanent deal with Shanghai Shenhua open to the deal.
Ighalo currently earns £150,000-a-week on his loan deal, but he is ready to take a hit of £30,000 for an extended stay.
Ighalo is unperturbed with the cut in his wage, he just wants to fulfill his childhood dream of playing for Manchester United.
The 30-year-old attacker has notched four goals in eight appearances for Manchester United since his arrival in January.
