Former Abia Warriors, Wikki Tourists, Kwara United and Rivers United ace Bolaji Sakin have fired a warning message to Enyimba ahead of CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final second leg in Conakry on Sunday.
The 27-year-old center-forward made his dream return to Nigeria with Horoya AC in the CAF Confederation Cup over last weekend as the visitors held the Peoples Elephant after a 1-1 scored in Aba.
Sakin has been in fine form since joining Horoya in 2017 from Rivers United as he first netted seven goals season, followed it up with ten and has helped the club to clinch a treble in 2018. They won the Guinea Ligue 1; Guinea National Cup and Guinea Super Cup.
The Nigerian is yet to score this season after missing large part of the campaign with an injury.
“Our plan was to come here (Aba) and win. We respect Enyimba because of their pedigree in Nigeria and Africa but we knew they will in no way beat us,” according to him via Complete Sport.
“We came here confident of winning but 1-1 draw is not a bad result for us.
“Yes, we weren’t too efficient in the first half. It was due to the heat and partly our game plan to see what Enyimba have in stock.
“But talking about the return leg match, it will be tough but then, surely Enyimba will be beaten by at least 2-0.
“It is not important for them to spend their money coming because they have reached the end of the road as far as the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup is concerned.”
Horoya are hoping to reach their first CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final semi-final when they welcome Enyimba at the Stade du 28 Septembre on Sunday.
