Manchester City fought hard to retain the Carabao Cup against Aston Villa as the Champions beat Aston Villa 2-1 to win the title.

Manchester City scored the opener via Sergio Aguero in the 20th minute after Phil Folden headed down the ball to the Argentine striker who put the ball into the net.

Rodri scored the second goal to make it 2-0 from a beautiful header, Aston Villa scored a goal before the end of the first half as El-Ghazi beat Manchester City goalkeeper to make it 2-1 before the end of the first 45 minutes.

The second half started with Manchester City probing Aston Villa for the third goal but the Villa Park outfit held the attack line of Manchester City.

Manchester City overpowered Aston Villa to win the Carabao EFL Cup for the third time in a row.
