Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari has defended his decision for leaving out Los Blancos midfielder Isco on the bench against Eibar in the La Liga and against AS Roma in the Champions League.
Real Madrid recorded a 2-0 win over the Italian team and booked a place in the knockout stage of the Champions League.
Despite the qualification to the next round many kept wondering why Isco was left out on two consecutive games but the coach explained the reasons for his action by saying the situation called for it.
"There are specific decisions for specific moments," he explained in his post-match press conference after the 2-0 win.

"We are making decisions and that's it, they are almost always sporting except in rare cases, but that doesn't apply here.
"We're here to give everything and who starts and who is on the bench is a fictitious problem that doesn't exist.”
Marcos Llorente handed a chance to start in the midfield and his performance was impressive after a slow start to the season.
"That was also a decision, and we're here to make those decisions," Solari said.
"Sometimes we get it right and sometimes we make mistakes, it's easy to see things after the game.
"I am very happy with Llorente's performance, he's very disciplined and he worked very hard.
"We're all happy for him," he told Marca.
Up next for Real Madrid is the La Liga game against Valencia on Saturday at the Bernabeu.
