Cristiano Ronaldo makes history after scoring a hat-trick in Juventus 4-0 victory over Cagliari in the Serie A encounter at Allianz Stadium on Monday evening.

After a goalless first half, the 34-year-old Portugal international, sporting a new-look top knotted hairstyle, began the year with a bang after rounding the visitor keeper Robin Olsen to firing home into an open net before adding the second from the penalty after spot Paulo Dybala fouled in the penalty box as he scored for the fifth league game in a row.

Former Chelsea loanee Gonzalo Higuain, who is enjoying life back in Italy with five league goals in 11 starts this season, replaced Dybala on 70 minutes as Argentina striker was quickly involved as his solo run from the left-wing resulted in Juventus third after he cut in and drilled past Olsen.

With ten minutes remaining in the tie, Ronaldo remained alert and diligent, screaming for the ball after a swift counter-attack before keeping defenders at bay and finding the bottom corner at close range.

Ronaldo is now on 13 league strikes for the season and sits in second place in the Serie A scoring stakes but becomes the first player ever to score a hat-trick in the Premier League, La Liga & Serie A.
