PRESTON V MAN CITY: Team News, probable line-up & prediction

Preston North End will host Manchester City in the EFL Cup as Pep Guardiola's men will start the defence of the trophy at the Deepdale Stadium on Tuesday evening.

PRESTON NORTH END:

The host will be without Tom Clarke for the clash against Manchester City while Louis Moult remains a long-time absentee for the Lillywhites.

MANCHESTER CITY:

John Stones sustained a muscle injury, Leroy Sane and America Laporte both suffered ACL injuries and are expected to be out of action till next year.

PRESTON NORTH END:

Preston is one of the most in-form teams in the Championship, enjoyed much more stability in the Championship over recent years, with their lowest finish since returning to the second division coming when they ended last season in 14th place - still 21 points clear of safety.

Preston has enjoyed an excellent start to the new campaign, winning five of their opening eight Championship games - a run which has taken them to third in the table - alongside winning ties against Hull City and Stoke City to set up this clash with another City at Deepdale.

The Lillywhites are yet to lose a game at home this season.

MANCHESTER CITY:

Pep Guardiola side is back in business after their slump against Norwich City in the Premier League, they have since then won all their games including the 8-0 win over Watford on Saturday.
