Manchester City start their title defence in style

Manchester City started their title defence in style following a 3-0 win over Preston North End in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday even at Deepdale Stadium.

Manchester City got the first goal in the 19th minute of the game via Raheem Sterling, the attacker displayed quick feet and dribbled past multiple Preston North End defenders to take a shot that was deflected into the net.

Manchester City remained dominant and they could have gotten the second goal by it was ruled offside as the goal by Gabriel Jesus did not stand.

Sterling pass found its way to Gabriel Jesus who made no mistake to make it 2-0 for Manchester City at the Deepdale Stadium, following a brilliant composure from the Brazilian forward.

Preston North End could not help themselves as midfielder Ledson Ryan scored an own goal as he attempted to clear a cross in the six-yard box.

The first half ended 3-0 in favour of the defending Champion.

In the second half, both managers made changes to their teams but no goal was second in the entire 45 minutes of the second half, as Pep Guardiola's men started their title defence in a sensational way.
