The Guardian says Allegri would be keen to replace Solskjaer at Old Trafford if the Norwegian is sacked.
Allegri left Juventus last season and he would be willing to take up the job even if Manchester United failed to qualify for the next season’s Champions League.
The Italian is learning English in a bid to prepare for his potential new job, Manchester United will consider another two or three candidates for the job.
However, the club does not have any plans to part ways with a coach they only recently signed to a three-year extension.
