Liverpool survive a huge scare against Chelsea

Liverpool survived a huge scare against Chelsea in the European Super Cup in Istanbul after Jurgen Klopp's men won on a penalty shootout.

Chelsea was more dominant than Liverpool in the first 45 minutes, the first attempt on goal for the Blues feel on the foot of Pedro but the Spanish attacker was denied by the woodwork.

Liverpool was not efficient in front of goal as the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were off from the entire first half of clash.

Kante was magnificent in the build-up of the opening goal as he raced down in the midfielder to deliver the ball to Christain Pulisic who provided a perfect assist for Olivier Giroud in the 35th minute as the Frenchman made no mistake to beat Liverpool defender and goalkeeper for the opener.

Jurgen Klopp made the first change as Oxlade Chamberlain was withdrawn for Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian forward takes no time to introduce himself as he quickly helped Liverpool to get the equaliser by providing an assist for Mane in the 47th minute.

Both teams created chances in the second half but none of the chances was converted as the game went into extra time of the clash.

Liverpool scored their second goal of the evening via Mane after the Senegalese forward was let alone to play the ball into the top of the net.

it takes no time for Jorginho to find the equaliser from the penalty spot after Liverpool keeper brought down Tammy Abraham in the 99th minute.

Liverpool won the clash after Abraham lost from the spot.
