Chelsea will take a trip to France to face Lille for their second group stage match in the Champions League on Wednesday. Here are details you need to know before the clash at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium.

TEAM NEWS

LILLE:

The home team will be without Timothy Weah who is yet to recover from an injury to help his team against Chelsea in their second Champions League group stage match.

CHELSEA:

The Blues will miss the services of N’Golo Kante when they face the Ligue 1 outfit on Wednesday even at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium. Matteo Kovacic is likely to be called upon once again to cover for the defensive midfielder.

HEAD TO HEAD:

The two sides have yet to meet in an official Uefa competition.

LILLE:

Christophe Galtier’s men have won only two games in their last five games two ended in a draw and one defeat in all.

Lille is currently fourth in Ligue 1 and have been in great form since last season in the domestic scene, though their last Champions League game ended in 3-0 against Ajax and their last Ligue 1 game was a 1-1 draw to away to Nice.

CHELSEA:

The Blues have been in solid form under Frank Lampard this season with his newly reshaped team, though injuries have hampered the team from fielding some of their best players but even at that the Stamford Bridge team has been able to get some positive results that made a contender for the top four spot this season.

Their last Champions League game ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat against Valencia at the Stamford with Ross Barkley blowing an opportunity to draw the game from a penalty spot.
