Former Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder has dared Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s level and he is of the view that he could have hit the same level with them if he had shown more commitment during his playing days.

Sneijder was one of the best players and he reached the height of his career in 2010 when he guided Inter Milan to treble under Jose Mourinho and led the Netherlands to the World Cup finals in South Africa.

"I have to be honest with myself," Sneijder began while speaking with Fox Sports NL.

"If I'd been 100 percent committed, I would have been at the level of Messi and Cristiano. I'm sure of that.

"It's not that I couldn't do it, it's just that I didn't feel like it.

"I preferred to enjoy myself both on and off the pitch, and I won everything, so I have no regrets."

The Dutch midfielder retired at the end of the last season with his last club Al-Gharafa in Qatar.
