Giorgio Chiellini scores the first-half goal as Juventus beat Parma 1-0 at the Ennio Tardini in their Serie A opener Saturday evening encounter.

Bainconeri were without former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri who is recovering from pneumonia but dominated the first half and took the lead when Italy international turned home Alex Sandro's cross come shot on twenty minutes.

The visitors thought they had doubled their lead when Ronaldo finished off a swift counter attack orchestrated by Douglas Costa - but VAR adjudged the Portuguese striker to be marginally offside.

Parma improved in the second half and came closest to an equaliser in stoppage time when Hermani fizzed a venomous free-kick from range just wide of Wojciech Szczesny's left-hand post.

The 'Old Lady' face a tough test against rivals Napoli next weekend but have started as they mean to go on with three points and a clean sheet in Parma tonight.
