Chelsea hand Costa conditions for first team football

Reports from England suggest Chelsea expect Diego Costa to comply with certain conditions as per the terms of his contract having failed to return to training with the club.

Chelsea on Monday fined Diego Costa two weeks wages by Chelsea for failing to return to pre-season training with the club last month. It is understood the fine is in the region of £300,000.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea expect Costa to comply with the following;

Return to the club

Return to training

Get match fit

Put himself in contention for selection

Costa who was given an extra week off in the summer and was due to report back on July 17 – four weeks ago today is currently in his hometown in Brazil and has suggested in an interview with the Daily Mail that he feels Chelsea are blocking his desired move back to former club Atletico Madrid.
