Liverpool player, Oxlade-Chamberlain had a successful surgery and his former teammate Alex Iwobi has shown excitement in his quick recovery.

The England midfielder incurred a knee injury in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Roma and had to watch from the sick bed during Liverpool's visit to Rome for the second leg.

The injury ruled him out of the Reds' Champions League final against Real Madrid as well as England's bid for World Cup glory this summer in Russia.

In a bid to provide an injury update, Chamberlain treated his Instagram followers to the picture of himself in the hospital bed as he watched from his laptop how the boys played against Roma and qualified for the big finals in Kiev.

He captioned it: "Watching the boys in Rome last week taking us one step closer to something very special.

The 24-year old footballer also stated that the surgery was successful and he is very much ready to hit the pitch "Knee surgery was a success and the hard work has already begun 💪🏽."

Super Eagles player, Alex Iwobi reacted to the latest development as the Arsenal man left a love emoji on the former Gunner's Instagram post.

Manchester City player, Raheem Sterling also commented on Chamberlain's recovery post as pictured above.

Chamberlain will be watching from the stands where he will be cheering his Liverpool teammates up as they battle for the Champions League trophy in the finals, on the 26th of May in Kiev.
