Barcelona set to announce the signing of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann after his release clause dropped to €120 million on Monday.
The 28-year-old France international has informed Atletico Madrid in May that he would leave the Spanish capital club this summer, where he made the announcement in a short video which appeared on social media following a meeting with coach Diego Simeone and various members of the Rojiblancos board.
According to ESPN claims that Griezmann's entourage upped their contact with Barcelona in March, before Atletico's Champions League loss to Juventus in Turin. At first, the Catalan club were not keen on re-opening negotiations due to last year's snub.
The report further indicates that Blaugrana want to complete the deal by Wednesday and present Griezmann next week to the Catalan fans alongside Frenkie de Jong is due in Nou Camp this week to complete his €75m transfer from Ajax.
Neymar has been linked with a return to Barcelona just two years after leaving La Liga Champions in the summer of 2017 when he moved to Paris Saint-Germain in a £200million world record transfer.
