Ajax 1-1Juve: Nerves' solo goal cancels Ronaldo's opener

David Nerves' solo goal cancel Cristiano Ronaldo's header as both teams settled for a 1-1 draw at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in the first leg of the Champions League.

Juventus started the game in an offensive manner with Federico Bernardeschi long-range shot narrowly miss the target, Ajax replied with an attempt from Hakim Ziyech as he smashed the ball towards goal but Wojciech Szczesny was alert to sense the danger.

Ajax was able to contain Juventus in the opening 20 minutes of the clash. Ajax had an opportunity to score after a brilliant quick pass but Donny van de Beek's effort went narrowly off the mark.

Ajax had more ball possession as Juventus was made to chase the ball around. Juventus got the opener after Cristiano Ronaldo beautiful header found the back of the net in the last minute of the first half.

in the second half Ajax scored in the opening minute after a solo effort from Neres David found the back of the net, Juventus was caught open again but the effort went wide.

Ajax continued from where they ended the first half as they had more possession than the visitors, Max Allegri opted for the first substitution as Mario Mandzukic goes off for Douglas Costa in the 60th minute.

Blaise Matuidi suffered a knocked in the 73rd minute and was replaced by Paulo Dybala as Juventus continue to find a way to penetrate Ajax defence.

Juventus was unfortunate as Costa's shot was denied by the pole in the 84th minute. The game ended 1-1.
