Twitter reaction former Super Eagles striker Julius Aghahowa who turns 39 on this day 12 February.

Former Bendel Insurance goal poacher was famous for his acrobatic goal celebrations during his playing day at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium before leaving Benin City to join Esperance Sportive de Tunis in Tunisia in 1999 after his performance with Flying Eagles.


Aghahowa also played for Shakhtar Donetsk, Wigan Athletic, Kayserispor, and Sevastopol before announced his retirement from professional football in April 2013.

The Benin-born star scored 14 goals for the Nigerian national team, including their only goal at the 2002 World Cup against Sweden and he became Nigeria’s top goalscorer at the 2002 African Nations Cup as they finished with a bronze medal in the tournament.

FIFA have joined CAF, UEFA, NFF and many others to sent birthday messages via their social media handle to celebrate Nigerian legend Aghahowa as he clocks 39 on 12 February.
