Arsenal midfielder, Matteo Guendouzi has tested positive for COVID-19, according to reports.
The 21-year-old who is currently on loan at Bundesliga outfit Hertha BSC tested positive after returning to Germany from the France U21 national team.
Guendouzi will self-isolate for 10 days. The news was confirmed by Hertha’s general manager Michael Preetz.
Speaking to German tabloid Kicker, Preetz said: “We want to give him time to adapt. But we don’t have an insane amount of time, so we have to speed up the process.
“With Matteo, there’s sometimes a thin line between courage and overconfidence. He’s a very active player with a great temper that can swing in both directions.”
“He’s very safe with the ball and wants it permanently. He can be a hinge between the defense and attack.”
