Former Chelsea star Bertrand Traore has joined John Terry’s Aston Villa for a £19million signing from Lyon.
The 25-year-old Burkina Faso forward penned a three-year contract at Villa Park and is the club’s fourth major arrival of the summer to take their total spend to £84m.
Traore returns to the Premier League following three seasons in Ligue 1 as Aston confirmed the signing on the club official website.
Dean Smith said: ‘We’re delighted that Bertrand has chosen to come to Villa. He’s a player with immense talent who will really enhance our attacking options.’

This summer has seen Aston Villa have buy Ollie Watkins for £28 from Brentford, Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest for £14m and Emiliano Martinez from Arsenal for £20m.
Taore joined Lyon from Chelsea for €10m (£9.2m) in June 2017 and scored 33 times in 126 matches across three seasons, enjoying his most productive spell in his first season with 17 goals.
