In line with its on-going plan to build a crack side that is capable of rubbing shoulders with some of Europe’s heavyweights, Galatasaray are understood to be close to landing Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo.
Turkish news outfit sporx reported on Monday that Gala is leaving no stone unturned to add Etebo to it’s long lists of new arrival before the transfer window close.
Already Etebo has been left out of Stoke plans for the season after signing it’s Nigerian compatriots John Obi Mikel, while Getafe are not too keen to agree on another season-long loan deal with the midfielder.
But Sporx reported on Monday morning that the 24-years old hard-working midfielder will in the coming days join Gala with a purchase option. The club is said to be desperately engaging in talks with Etebo’s agent, William D’Avila on the need to complete paperwork before Gala Super Lig opener against Gaziantep match on September 12.
The former Warri Wolves’ combative midfielder played 14 games in Stoke City, which competed in the England Championship last season and joined Getafe in the second half of the season where he scored 1 goal in 11 matches.
Etebo is the 21st Nigerian to score in the Spanish top-flight, joining the likes of Ikechukwu Uche, Finidi George, Mutiu Adepoju, Odion Ighalo, Obafemi Martins and Rashidi Yekini in the list.
