One of Napoli’s backroom staff Roberto Calendar has described Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen as an exemplary professional who will in no doubt be firing on all cylinders when the Serie A gets underway.
In an interview with Tuttomecartowebb, Roberto said Osimhen is inspired by the history of the club which once featured Argentine legend Diego Maradona and Uruguayan Edison Cavani.
He maintained that the former Lille star will adapt to the Italian system but assured that coach Genarro Gattuso has resolved to give the Nigerian enough time to become the best striker in Serie A.
“The boy is an exemplary professional, and he is very serious. This is important when you get to teams where there have been players with football history.
“The coach’s words are right: you have to wait and give him time because he comes from far, he must adapt to our championship and our customs.
“But without a shadow of a doubt he has great talent and I am sure he will prove it, because he has some important characteristics expected of a player
Roberto further hinted that the former Charleroi forward is already enjoying the camaraderie in camp after we were welcomed with open arms by teammates.
” The boy is very happy because of unity that exists in the team, everyone welcomed him very well and he found a family in the club. He was impressed by the warmth of the Napoli fans too. We hope that things will go as planned,” he said
