Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has secured a three-year deal with newly promoted Serie A side Crotone after leaving Denizlispor, according to reports.
The 27-year-old passed his medicals at the Italian club this week and finalised personal terms.
Onazi will be returning to Italy where he enjoyed five successful years with Lazio and Rome fans still remember his winner in the 3-2 win against Napoli which sent his side into the 2015/2016 UEFA Champions League.
The deal is expected to be confirmed by Crotone in the coming days as Onazi will team up with his Nigerian compatriot, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, known simply as Simy in Italy.
Simy, who was a surprise inclusion for the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup scored 20 goals and provided three assists to help Crotone gain automatic qualification back to Serie A after their relegation in 2018.
Onazi will be looking to play his way back into reckoning for the Super Eagles as Coach Gernot Rohr hasn’t invited him since the 2018 World Cup.
