Erstwhile Super Eagles gaffer, Samson Yebowei Siasia is confident his long-awaited FIFA Hearing will go ahead as scheduled despite Covid-19 fears.
In an exclusive interview chat FCNaija, the former U-23 manager disclosed that the October 6 hearing at CAS headquarters will not be moved as speculated, but assured necessary safety measures will be maintained.
” The hearing will surely go ahead as planned and Covid-19 won’t stop us this time around. It’s been a long wait and I’m confident it will go ahead as expected,” Siasia said.
He then appealed for.more support from Nigeria in his bid to get fair hearing to get his life ban lifted.
” I still want to thank Nigerians for their support while I want to request for their prayers and more support as I hope to get a fair trial,” he said.
The request was initially billed for March 19, 2020 but this had to be adjourned owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
The former Nigeria head coach was banned for life from football after the sport’s ruling body found him guilty of agreeing to take bribes to manipulate matches.
The 51-year-old was also fined CHF50,000 (£42,000) for breaching Fifa’s code of ethics.
