Former Chelsea Sporting director Mike Emenalo could be rolling up his sleeves for a fresh challenge with Turkish side, Trabzonspor.
Fanatik reported on Wednesday that efforts are in top gear by Burgundy Blue outfit to appoint the Nigerian following his successful stint at Chelsea and Monaco.
It was reported that Trabzonspor manager, Eddie Newton had demanded that Emenalo be brought back to Turkey to join him in rebuilding the club given his wealth of expertise and experience as a role of sporting director.
More importantly, Newton maintained that his success at Trabzonspor will be aided by the arrival of Emenalo whom he worked closely with at Chelsea.
Fanatik reported that the former Monaco football chief is currently idle and Trabzonspor’s chieftains have since stepped-up effort to storm London for talks.
The Nigerian stepped down at Stamford Bridge in October 2017 and joined Monaco in November same year following his desire to end his 10-year association with Chelsea.
During his time at Chelsea, Emenalo is credited with making big-name signings, including the arrivals of Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois, and N’Golo Kanté, among others.
It remains to be seen if Emenalo is willing to accept the offer given his hunger pangs for working top European clubs.
