Nigerian striker Blessing Eleke is delighted after joining Belgian Pro League club Beerschot on a three-year deal.

The 24-year-old grew up in Lagos scored 22 goals in 72 appearances for Swiss Super League side FC Luzern since joining the club in July 2018.

Eleke told the club’s official website: “I want to make everyone happy and proud of my goals.

“I also want to score a lot for Beerschot and I am delighted that I can continue to grow at a club like Beerschot, in a city like Antwerp.

“Of all the offers I had, this was the best for me. I get better every year and I want to push it to the limit.

Coach Hernan Losada: “For his age, Eleke already has a lot of experience, and that in different countries. As a result, he may quickly get used to his new environment and new competition. That is an advantage. Although of course, we transferred him because of his talent and qualities. He is both strong and fast, and for a 1m90 striker, he has a lot of technology. In short, the ideal reinforcement of our attacking compartment. ‘

Chairman Francis Vrancken: “‘This is a major but well-considered transfer. We are convinced that Eleke’s market value can still rise. It also shows our ambition. We have always indicated that we would only attract players who bring something extra to this balanced and good group.

This will be Eleke fifth club in Europe since he left Flying Sports Academy in Nigeria in 2014 after a spell at Gorica, Olimpija Ljubljana, Ashdod, and Luzern.
