While Victor Osimhen is leaving France for a new chapter in Italy with Napoli, there are indications that another Super Eagles star may be heading for action in Ligue 1 in the upcoming season.
According to reports, Mikel Agu could be on his way to joining modest French side Nantes.
The Ligue 1 side already has Moses Simon on their books with the forward recently penning a four-year deal having impressed while on loan from Levante.
Now, according to Footsur7, Les Canaries are looking for a replacement for their captain, Abdoulaye Traore, who is expected to leave the club this summer.
And one player that perfectly fits the bill as a capable replacement is Super Eagles star, Agu.
The 27-year-old currently plays for the Portuguese side, Vitoria Guimaraes, and has also earned seven caps for Nigeria.
Nantes will have to be ready to splash the cash and also got enough tricks to convince Guimaraes to sell as Agu is an important player in Tiago Mendes side, and he also has a contract that runs till 2022.
Agu made 16 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight last season with 14 coming as starts.
In the sixteen games, the Super Eagles star scored once while he registered two assists.
He also featured six times in the Europa League.
In times past, former Super Eagles coach is one of the top Nigerians to have played for Nantes.
