Napoli newest signing, Victor Osimhen has set a target of winning Italia scudetto and Serie A Golden Boots Award in his first season at the Naples club.
His agent, William D’Avila in an exclusive interview with Radio Marte confirmed the report and expressed his relief after the former Lille striker penned a deal with Napoli last week.
“He wants to win the top scorer and become the best striker in Italy. He obviously wants to win the scudetto, as well as go as far as possible in the Champions League and the Europa League.
“I am very happy that the player has been signed by Napoli, it is a great experience for every party involved. Napoli has taken up a top striker who will score many, many goals, next season and we will have a lot of fun watching him play for Napoli.
D’Avilla further absolved himself from any blame after he was accused of hijacking Osimhen’s contracts talks.
” I don’t know and I don’t want to talk about what happened with the old agents. Osimhen contacted me and trusted to negotiate his transfer from Lille, there were various clubs on the table and of course, we discussed with them.
“We chose Napoli because we looked at the situation from a strictly sporting point of view, it is the most suitable choice for him, also because historically those who arrived here in his role have scored many goals. We are so happy with the choice we made,” he said.
It is reported that Napoli signed Osimhen from Lille for a fee that could rise to €81.3 million.
The 21-year-old Nigerian striker becomes the Serie A club’s record signing after joining for an initial €50 million-plus add-ons.
Osimhen scored 18 goals in 38 appearances for the Ligue 1 side in all competitions last season before French football was called off due to Covid-19.
He helped Nigeria win the U17 World Cup in 2015 when he finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 10 goals.
