Ahead of Wednesday’s match against Austrian side LASK, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has listed Odion Ighalo among the 30-man squad to execute the match.
The 30-year-old is battle ready as Manchester United continue their quest to win the Europa League.
The former Super Eagles forward scored a wonder goal during the first leg round of 16 match which ended 5-0 in favour of the Red Devils and Ole Gunnars’ Solskjaer’s men are expected to seal qualification into the quarter final with a home win.
Ighalo, who has scored five goals in 17 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions, will be desperate to get the managers nod to start ahead of the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as he has mostly played from the bench during premier league games.
Interestingly, LASK have changed their manager since the last time they faced the Red Devils after Valerien Ismael was replaced by Dominik Thalhammer, who was previously coach of the Austria national women’s team. But they will play without fear at Old Trafford as they are unbeaten in their last three European away matches.
A victory for Manchester United against LASK will see them play either Istanbul Basaksehir or Copenhagen in Cologne on Monday as the knock-out tournament begins in Germany.
