Turkish giants, Galatasaray will give a final push to lure their top striker Henry Onyekuru back to the club as negotiation heat up between Gala and Monaco, Fanatik can report.
Onyekuru had parted ways with Gala to rejoin his parent club Monaco at the Principles after his contract expired before the end of the season.
Feelers from Principles revealed that Monaco are not willing to sell their prized striker after the club openly declared it’s intention to keep Onyekuru, but the Nigerian is bent on rejoining Galatasaray where he is assured of a regular shirt.
Onyekuru had requested for a move to Gala after he failed to impress under former Monaco manager coach Leonard Jardim, but his hope of re-igniting his career under coach Roberto Moreno went up in flames after the Spanish gaffer was also fired by Monaco last month.
Galatasaray had given up any possible hope of signing Onyekuru after Moreno
stated clearly that the former Eupen striker will lead his strike force in the coming season. But with the Spanish manager out of the picture, Gala can now relaunch their bid for Henry.
Besides, the arrival of former Bayern manager Niko Kovac may have once again scuttled Onyekuru’s chance of fighting for a shirt at the club after the Croatia-born tactician dropped the Super Eagles striker from his pre-season camp in Greece and Poland.
The 23-years old striker had taken to Instagram to display his Galatasaray jersey to the excitement of his teeming fans who responded with thousands of messages.
Fanatik reported that Gala chieftains are said to be excited by this latest development and are expected to open fresh talks with Monaco on the possibility of bringing back the former Evertonian.
The 24-year-old featured for 11 times in Galatasary’s colour this season but could only score one goal and one assist.
