Inform Super Eagles star Simy Nwankwo strikes again as Crotone close on returning to Serie A after 1-0 victory over Pordenone Calcio in the Serie B encounter at Stadio Ezio Scida.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international connected with a pass from Salvatore Molina to scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time.

Nwankwo was later replaced by Maxi Lopez in the stoppage time but Super Eagles star has taken his goal tally to 18 of the season and four assists.

The Nigerian star surprised many last summers when he decided to stick with Crotone despite a host of interests from other clubs but it now appears the club will have to do more if they are to keep their most prized asset when they return to the Serie A next season.

Crotone maintained their second spot in the Serie B standings after the win over Pordenone Calcio with four games remaining, the race for Serie A promotion is heating up with two slots left for grabs after runaway leaders Benevento sealed their spot.
