Arsenal want Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s replacement at Emirate Stadium after the Gabon international failed to extend his deal at the club.
Alexander Lacazette is also considering leaving the club with the Frenchman’s contract due to expire in 2022.
The Arsenal scouting team has seen Weghorst as the player who can lead the line for the Gunner next season according to report in Bild.
Weghorst, 27, has been a sensational player in Holland and in Germany he has been consistent for Wolfsburg this season, he is the fourth-highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga, Arsenal is not the only Premier League interested in his service with Newcastle United also circling and he could be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of €35 million (£32m).
Aubameyang is weighing up his options this summer and the likes of Barcelona and Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for the former Borrusia Dortmund star.
