Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made direct contact with Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva about a move to the Emirate Stadium.
It has been confirmed that the Paris Saint-Germain defender will leave the club at the end of the season and he is currently finalising a short-term deal to cover the French Cup final and remainder of the Champions League.
Everton is also interested in signing the Brazilian defender as manager Carlo Ancelotti wants a reunion with the player he managed during his time at Paris Saint-Germain.
Arteta has jumped into the battle to sign the defender thanks to David Luiz as the former Chelsea defender is urging Arteta to move for his Brazil teammate.
The report in Le 10 Sport says Luis passed on Silva’s number to Arteta, who has since called the veteran defender to discuss a potential move to Arsenal.
