Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho wants a reunion with Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez at Tottenham Hotspur.
Mourinho is targeting the Real Madrid winger who seems to be surplus to requirement at the Santiago Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane this season, though he suffered some injuries that limited his game time.
Mourinho was in charge at the Bernabeu between 2010 and 2013 when the Spain international was in their reserve set-up.
The Spanish international has made 14 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid this season, his lowest since he joined the senior team.
The report in Mundo Deportivo reports that the 28-year-old is seen as disposable by Zidane as he looks to raise fund and slim down the squad.
Real Madrid has reduced their asking price for the winger, he is now being valued for €25m a fee that interests Mourinho who is willing to add more attacking options to his team.
Vazquez’s contract at the Bernabeu is due to expire in 2021. As such, Mundo Deportivo says Tottenham could launch an opening gambit of just €17m to try their luck with Real Madrid.
