Manchester City booked their place in the semifinals after a 2-0 win over Newcastle United at the St James Park on Sunday evening.

Manchester City broke the deadlock from the penalty spot after Newcastle United Fabian Schar committed a rough tough which led to a penalty that was coolly converted by Kevin de Bryne in the 37th minute.

Manchester City controlled the game and Newcastle United was confined in their own half. Manchester City made it 2-0 in the second half after Raheem Sterling connected well with a pass from Phil Folden in the 68th minute of the clash.

The game was purely controlled by Pep Guardiola’s men as they aim to secure a space in the semifinals of the FA Cup this season.

With the 2-0 win, the dethroned Premier League Champions have secured a place in the FA Cup semifinals.
