Manchester United is prepared to dislodge Real Madrid win the race to sign Ajax Donny van de Beek, according to report in the Netherlands.

The report in De Telegraph claims that Real Madrid has agreed to sign the midfielder for €50 million (£44.5m) and the talented youngster has also agreed to join the Santiago Bernabeu outfit with medicals standing on his way to Spain.

The discussion is in the advance stage but Real Madrid is unwilling to approve the transfer due to the coronavirus effect on La Liga.

Manchester United is ready to move ahead of Real Madrid to sign the midfielder and the Red Devils are banking on the positive relationship between Edwin van der Sar, who is Ajax’s chief executive and a former goalkeeper at Old Trafford to get the deal done.

Van de Beek has been integral to Ajax’s success over the past three seasons and has scored 41 goals and registered 34 assists in 175 appearances for Ajax.

Manchester United is keen on signing the centre midfielder for a fee lower than €50m (£44.5m) when the transfer window opens.
