Newcastle United is prepared to battle Manchester City and Real Madrid for Uruguayan youngster Facundo Pellistri, according to report.
Football activities have been stopped in the last few months as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, but the likes of Newcastle United and Manchester City are active in the pursuit of promising talent across the world.
Manchester City confirmed the signing of Peruvian defender Kluiverth Aguilar, though he will only join the Etihad outfit when he turns 18 next year, and the Premier League Champions are keen on signing another South American talent if reports are to be believed.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City is well-positioned to sign the much-coveted Pellistri from Peñarol, who has been earning rave reviews of his manager, former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan, and has already been handed the prestigious No.10 shirt.
It’s reported that Manchester City has already held discussions with the 18-year-old’s representatives and that they have been helped in the pursuit by their full-time scout based in Uruguay.
