Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is set to sign Derby County midfielder
Max Bird for Chelsea as he aims to wrap up his second signing for the Blues.
Lampard is a huge fan of Bird, having managed the midfielder during his spell in Derby County. the Blues manager handed Bird his debut for the Rams during his reign as Derby manager.
The report in agreeing in the website Todofichajes claim Chelsea are close to ‘finalising’ a deal for Derby midfielder Bird.
Chelsea is keen on bringing some replacement at the end of the season to Stamford Bridge as it is clear that the team will be without some important figures next season.
The likes of Willian, Olivier Giroud, Marcos Alonso, Pedro, Emerson Palmieri and Michy Batshuayi are touted to leave the Stamford Bridge at the end of the campaign.
Lampard is keen on signing a goalkeeper, a left-back and an attacker, for the goalkeeper position Chelsea has been linked with Ajax Andres Onana and for left-back Bayern Munich David Alaba has been on the list at Stamford Bridge and Lyon attacker Moussa Dembele has been touted for a move to Chelsea since the last transfer window in January but the move fell through.
