Real Madrid is prepared to offer Luka Jovic another season after a dissapointing debut campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid board has vetoed another trial season for the Serbian attacker.
Jovic joined Real Madrid last summer in a £52million move from Eintracht Frankfurt but he has struggled to match the expectation expected from a player of his calibre.
Jovic has just two goals and two assists in 24 appearances for the Los Blancos though most of the appearances were from the substitute bench.
The report in the Spanish media AS claim that Real Madrid will give the striker another opportunity before they take any decision to loan him or sale him off after the next season.
The report claims Real have told Jovic to work on his fitness with a specialised trainer and to remain as far away from the media as possible.
The club is thought to still trust the forward and a source told AS: ‘Luka is at the perfect age to grow as a footballer and as a person, he signed a contract until 2025 and we have him.
Real Madrid is in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund Erling Braut Haaland as they aim to reduce the goal scoring burden on Karim Benzema who has been Real Madrid most potent forward since the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus two seasons ago.
