Paris Saint-Germain is interested in signing Real Madrid 32-year-old attacker Karim Benzema this summer, according to report in Spanish based journal Mundo Deportivo.
The report claims that the Ligue 1 Champions are keen on bringing the French star back to Ligue 1 at the end of the summer.
Paris Sant-Germain is bracing up for the exit of Edison Cavani who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season having spent seven years at the Parc des Princes and manager Thomas Tuchel has identified Benzema as an ideal replacement for the Uruguayan striker.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane would not entertain the option to let Benzema leave this summer despite heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland and it will be an uphill task to convince Benzema to turn up for Paris Saint-Germain considering his connection with Lyon before he joined Real Madrid in 2009.
Benzema is Real Madrid most potent attacker in recent season with Luka Jovic, Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale switching off for the greater part of the season.
The attacker has made a blistering start to the 2019/20 campaign with 17 goals and assists in his first 15 league appearances but has struggled since the middle of December.
