Spain ace Saul Niguez to receive major wage boost of £200,000 a week if he joined Manchester United in the summer.
The 25-year-old Atletico Madrid midfielder emerged as one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side top targets in the summer transfer window, with uncertainty still surrounding Paul Pogba’s long-term future at the club.
Manchester United are known to have scouted Saul several times, and watched him in last month’s Champions League last-16 clash against Liverpool at Anfield shortly before the suspension of football, which Atletico won 3-2 with the Spaniard scored the only goal of the first leg against the Reds.
According to The Sun claim that Saul has a contract with Diego Simone side until 2026, it has been suggested that La Liga giant are open to a sale for the right price but the Premier League outfit are willing to pay the midfielder an extra £85,000 per week if he agrees to move to Old Trafford.
That would see the long-serving Atletico player earn in the region of £200,000 every seven days, putting him in the same bracket as several of United’s key men.
Although Saul has a release clause of £135m, it is claimed that United are only willing to spend £70m on his signature.
