Chelsea is prepared to splash around £50m for the signing of a defender as the club directors are keen on meeting Frank Lampard’s demands.
Lampard has demanded the signing of Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell and the board is willing to meet the demands of the manager at the end of the season.
Chelsea is in the hunt for a left-back following huge concerns over the form of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri at the Stamford Bridge.
However, both Alonso and Emerson have been tipped to make a return to Serie A when the transfer window opens, which will leave Lampard with a natural left-back in the senior team.
The report in the Dailmil claims that Leicester defender Chilwell is a possible target for the Blues but the Stamford Bridge outfit face strong competition from Manchester City and even Barcelona.
Leicester City is prepared to do business but only if their asking price of £50m is met by many suitors.
Chilwell is a one of the best left-back in the Premier League having made 118 first team appearances for the Foxes since making his debut in 2015.
Chelsea is also in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa.
