Barcelona is set to beat the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal to the signing of Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa.
The left full-back has been in high demand by top clubs in Europe, with his contract with the Ligue 1 Champions set to expire in June.
Chelsea was leading the race to snap up the defender on a free transfer with manager Frank Lampard keen on replacing Marcs Alonso and Emerson Palmieri with the 27-year-old French defender.
Arsenal has been credited with an interest to sign the defender with the Gunner making a move in the January transfer market but the deal fell through and Kurzawa remained with the Ligue 1 Champions.
Kurzawa is been chased by numerous clubs across Europe after spending five years in Paris with the Ligue 1 Champions.
However, Barcelona is now ahead of the Premier League teams to secure a deal for the French defender and it seems the player’s choice is to move to Spain to play in the La Liga with the Camp Nou team.
Barcelona is expected to strengthen their left-back with Jordi Alba nearing the twilight of his career and performing at the highest level could be difficult considering his age.
