Barcelona president Jordi Cardoner has been tested positive for coronavirus after an examination was carried out.
Cardoner is the third individual to have contacted the virus at the club following director of medical services Ramon Canal, and doctor Josep Antoni Gutierrez.
None of the players has contacted the virus, Barcelona sent all their players home on March 13 following a talk with the club’s head of Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology at the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, Antoni Trilla.
Cardoner is progressing well with his treatment and he is expected to recover from the virus soonest.
Barcelona has placed a substantial preventive measure in place in a bid to avoid the spread of the disease as players have been laid off and told to remain in their homes for the time been before the commencement of sports activities in the country and the World at large.
