Chelsea is on the verge of agreeing on a deal for a 22-year-old Lille defender as manager Frank Lampard seek to improve the back four ahead of the next season.
Gabriel Magalhaes has been on the radar the Blues, Chelsea is thought to be in the market to sign a new centre-half in the summer transfer window to help bolster Frank Lampard’s squad.
“There have been four offers for Gabriel received by Lille and accepted by Lille,” according to reporter Duncan Castles the Transfer Window Podcast.
“They’ve reduced their asking price. In January, the valuation was €40-45m for Gabriel but given the new reality for football and Lille are a club dependent on transfer revenue, they’ve agreed a deal with a total value of €35m.
“Everton are one of the clubs who have had an offer accepted. Two clubs in Italy have had an offer accepted. The fourth club is Chelsea FC.”
Chelsea has not been impressive defensively this season but has been able to put in some decent shown the attack.
Chelsea has conceded 39 times in 29 games in the Premier League this term, which is more than any other team in the top seven.
