Manchester United have offered Chelsea and Barcelona transfer target Angel Gomes after offering the attacking midfielder £30,000 a week new improved contract.
The 19-year-old Under-20 international has appeared on two occasions in the Premier League this term, with his last league outing for the first team coming against Norwich City on January 11.
According to Metro claim that Manchester United have already offered Gomes a salary of around £25,000-a-week on a two-year deal but the midfielder wanted greater security.
However, Red Devils have now make an improved contract offered of £30,000-a-week deal to remain at Old Trafford but face stiff competition from Barcelona and Chelsea are thought to be exploring the possibility of signing the teenager on a free transfer.
But Manchester United have had their fingers burnt in the past in adopting such a risky stance, most notably with Paul Pogba in 2012.
